General Weighted Average Calculator

A general weighted average calculator works out your GWA by weighting each grade against the credit units of its subject. Add a row for every subject, enter the grade you received and the number of units it carries, and the calculator multiplies the two, adds the results and divides by your total units. Because heavier subjects pull the average further, this gives a truer picture of a term than a plain mean of your grades. It works with any grading scale as long as you stay consistent.
