Balance Transfer Calculator

A balance transfer moves a credit card balance to a card offering a low or zero rate for a fixed number of months, and charges a percentage of the balance for doing it. Enter the balance, the transfer fee, the promotional rate and how long it runs, the rate the card reverts to, and the payment you intend to make; the tool runs the months one at a time and reports the fee, how long the balance takes to clear, what is still owed on the day the promotion ends and what that remainder costs at the go-to rate. It also gives the payment that would clear the whole balance inside the promotional window, and what the fee works out to as a plain borrowing rate. Every figure comes from what you type, because offers differ by issuer and none of them can be checked from here. Annual fees, late fees, penalty rates and new purchases on the card are not counted.
