Balloon Payment Calculator

A balloon loan sets its payment from a long amortisation schedule but falls due long before that schedule ends, leaving the whole remaining balance owing in one lump. Enter the amount, the rate, the schedule the payment is worked from and the month the loan comes due, and you get the payment, the balloon, the interest paid before it and what the same loan would cost with no balloon at all. A second action runs it backwards, finding the payment that leaves a balloon of the size you choose. It suits seller-financed notes, equipment paper and commercial loans; nothing here covers escrow, insurance or the cost of refinancing the balloon.

The long schedule the payment is worked out from, which the loan never actually runs to.
