Net Ionic Equation Calculator
Pick the cation and anion of each aqueous reactant and this returns the balanced molecular equation, the total ionic equation with every strong electrolyte split into ions, and the net ionic equation with the spectators struck out. It names the spectator ions, says which solubility rule decided each product and explains what was removed from solution, whether that is a precipitate, water, a gas or a weak acid. The ion set is fixed and the standard solubility rules are applied in the usual order, so a combination it cannot handle honestly, such as an aluminium carbonate or a stepwise polyprotic acid, is refused rather than guessed at. It does not cover redox or complex ion chemistry.
