This tool turns a word count into a reading time, and a time slot back into the number of words that fits it. Paste the text or enter the count, choose a reading speed, and it returns the time, the minutes-read badge a blog would print, and the range a mixed audience would take. Silent reading and reading out loud are reported separately, because reading aloud is a good deal slower. Reading speed is personal, so treat any single figure as the middle of a wide band rather than a promise about one reader.
