Decimal to Time Calculator

Timesheets and payroll exports report work in decimal hours, so 7 hours 21 minutes arrives as 7.35 and reads like 7 hours 35 minutes to anyone who is not expecting it. Enter a decimal figure to get the clock time, or enter hours and minutes to get the decimal, and either way you also get the same value rounded to the nearest minute, the nearest tenth of an hour, the nearest quarter hour and the nearest half hour. Add an hourly rate and it shows what each of those conventions pays, which is where the gap between them stops being theoretical. The quarter hour convention is the one the Fair Labor Standards Act allows, and the tool explains the seven minute rule that describes it.
