Time Lapse Calculator

This tool plans a time-lapse from whichever end you know. Give it the shooting time and the interval and it returns the frame count, the finished clip length, the speed-up factor, the card space at your file size and how many battery charges the sequence needs. Give it an event length and the clip you want instead and it returns the interval to set, or give it an interval and a clip and it returns how long you have to stay out. Card space is counted with 1 GB as 1,000 MB, the way cards are labelled, and file size moves with the scene, so treat the space figure as a planning number rather than a promise.

Calculator Type
The rate the finished clip plays at, usually 24, 25 or 30.
Take it from a file you already shot at the same setting. RAW on a 24 megapixel body runs about 25 MB, JPEG about 8 MB.
The CIPA rating on the spec sheet is a fair starting point. Cold weather cuts it.
