Basis Point Calculator

A basis point is one hundredth of one percent, the unit rates and fees are quoted in when half a percentage point and a half-percent rise need telling apart. Enter a number of basis points to get the percentage and the decimal, a percentage to get the basis points, or two rates to get the gap between them. The fee tab turns a quoted figure such as 25 bps into the dollar cost on a balance you enter. That cost is one year on the balance as typed, not a running account whose balance moves.

Calculator Type

Divide by 100 for a percentage, by 10,000 for a decimal.

Negative for a cut, such as -50 for a fifty basis point reduction.

Multiply by 100. Enter 0.25 for a quarter of a percent, not 25.

A quarter of one percent is 0.25 here, which is 25 basis points.
