Gold Karat Calculator

This calculator handles the three things people need a karat figure for. It converts between karats, fineness and percent gold, works out how much fine gold or alloy to add to move a given weight to a target karat, and prices scrap from the weight, the karat and a spot price you type in. Weights can be entered in grams, pennyweight, troy ounces, grains or avoirdupois ounces, and the troy and kitchen ounce are kept apart because confusing them moves the answer about ten percent. There is no live market data here, so check the gold price before you rely on a total.
