Grocery Budget Calculator

This builds a grocery budget from one figure you already have, which is what a week of food costs for one adult in your house. Enter that, say how many adults, teenagers, children and under fours you are feeding, and it returns the weekly, monthly and yearly budget along with the cost per person per day. The share each age group eats relative to an adult is a rule of thumb, and every one of those shares is a box you can change. A second mode works the other way round, taking a few weeks of receipts and showing what you actually spend against your income and your target. No national average or published food plan is used anywhere here, so the answer is only ever as good as the figure you start from.

Formula and nappies are not food and are better entered as household items below.
Cleaning, paper goods, pet food, toiletries, whatever else lands on the grocery bill. Leave at zero for food only.
