Retirement Savings by Age Calculator
This calculator sets a retirement balance against the savings factors Fidelity publishes: one times your income by age 30, three by 40, six by 50, eight by 60 and ten by 67. Enter your age, your gross income and what you have put aside, and it returns the rung due at your age, how far above or below it you sit, and the whole ladder priced in dollars. A second mode back-solves the yearly and monthly saving that would reach a chosen milestone on time at the return you expect. Those factors assume a 15 percent savings rate, retirement at 67 and 45 percent of pre-retirement income coming from savings rather than Social Security, and only those five ages are published, so nothing here is interpolated between them.
