Astrocartography Calculator

Astrocartography draws four lines for each planet: the meridian where it stood on the midheaven, the opposite one for the lower meridian, and the curves where it was rising or setting on the horizon. Give the birth date, the clock time and the UTC offset and this returns all forty lines as longitudes, draws one planet's four lines on a world grid, or lists every line that passes within an orb of a place you name. The MC and IC lines are exact meridians of right ascension minus sidereal time; the rising and setting lines come from solving cos H equals minus tan latitude times tan declination, which is why they stop before the pole for a planet far from the celestial equator. Positions are computed here rather than read from a file, and they were checked against six equinoxes and solstices, the equation of time through the year, the 2020 great conjunction, four solar eclipses and the lunar standstills of 1997 and 2025. Parans, local space lines and relocated house cusps are not included, and neither is any claim about what a line means.

Calculator Type
Negative west of Greenwich. Include daylight saving if it was in force that day. This is the only thing the birth place changes.
The MC and IC lines are meridians and do not move with latitude. The AC and DC lines do, so they are quoted at one latitude.

How near a line has to pass to be listed. Astrocartography usually treats 70 to 100 miles as close.
