Black Moon Lilith Calculator

Black Moon Lilith is the apogee of the Moon's orbit, the far end of the line the Moon is furthest from Earth along, so it is a point in space rather than a body. Enter a birth date, the time if you know it and the UTC offset of the place, and this returns the sign and the exact degree, the dates Lilith entered that sign and leaves it, and the opposite point some astrologers call Priapus. It computes the mean apogee, which is what most astrological software uses by default, from the published series for the mean lunar perigee; the true or osculating apogee swings up to thirty degrees either side of it and needs a full ephemeris, so it is not offered here. Astrology is entertainment, and only the geometry on this page is astronomy.

Mean Lilith moves about a ninth of a degree a day, so the date does nearly all of the work and the time only matters within a day or so of a sign boundary. No birthplace is needed: the mean apogee is at the same longitude for everyone on Earth at the same moment.

Leave it at noon if you do not know. At a ninth of a degree a day the time changes almost nothing.
Negative west of Greenwich. Include daylight saving if it was in force.
