Venus Sign Calculator

Venus takes between three weeks and four months to cross a sign, so unlike a sun sign it is not settled by the date alone near a boundary. Enter the birth date, the time and the time zone and this computes Venus's position from planetary elements rather than looking it up, and returns the sign, the exact degree, whether Venus was moving forward or retrograde, the dates it entered and leaves that sign, and how far it stood from the Sun as a morning or evening star. No birthplace is needed, because a planet is in the same sign everywhere on Earth at the same moment. Within a quarter of a degree of a cusp the calculation is not precise enough to decide the sign, and it says so rather than picking one.

Venus moves up to about a degree and a quarter a day, so the date does almost all of the work and the time only matters near a sign boundary. The birthplace is not needed: unlike a rising sign, a planet is in the same sign everywhere on Earth at the same moment.

Leave at noon if you do not know it. It only changes the answer within about a degree of a cusp.
