Bishop Score Calculator

The Bishop score rates how ready the cervix is for labour to be induced. You enter the dilation in centimetres, the effacement band, the fetal station, and how firm and how far forward the cervix feels, plus the modifiers for pre-eclampsia, parity, postdates and ruptured membranes. It returns the points for each criterion, the unmodified score out of 13, the total after the modifiers, and the band the total falls in. A score of 8 or more is conventionally read as favourable and 5 or less as unfavourable, but the decision to induce belongs to the clinician looking after the pregnancy.

Scored 0 at closed, 1 at 1 to 2 cm, 2 at 3 to 4 cm and 3 at 5 cm or more.
The score has gaps between its bands, so pick the band the examination falls in.
Measured against the ischial spines, on the -3 to +2 scale the score uses.
The modified score adds one point for each of them.
