Harris-Benedict Calculator

This calculator applies the revised Harris-Benedict equations published by Roza and Shizgal in 1984, the re-fitted version of the 1919 originals. Enter sex, age, height, weight and an activity level, and it returns basal metabolic rate and maintenance calories, along with the same person's BMR under the original 1919 coefficients and under Mifflin-St Jeor. Seeing the three side by side shows how much the choice of equation moves the answer. Predictive equations are estimates and sit within roughly ten percent of a measured value for most people.
