Life Expectancy Calculator

This calculator uses the Gompertz-Makeham law of mortality, the standard actuarial curve, with its parameters fitted to the remaining-life-expectancy values published in recent United States period life tables from the CDC and the Social Security Administration. Enter your age and the sex recorded at birth and it returns the average further years for a large group of people like you, the median, and the odds of living another ten or twenty years. It knows nothing about your own health, habits, income or family history, and no calculator can tell anyone when they will die. Read the number as a population average under recent mortality rates rather than a forecast about you, and bear in mind that those rates keep shifting.
