Prostate Volume Calculator

Ultrasound and MRI reports give the prostate as three measurements, and the volume is worked out from them with the ellipsoid formula: length times width times height times 0.52. Enter the three dimensions in centimetres or millimetres and the tool returns the volume in cc, the slightly larger figure a report using pi/6 exactly would print, and an approximate weight. Add a serum PSA value and it also divides one by the other to give the PSA density. This reports a measurement, not a diagnosis, and the ellipsoid formula is an approximation that repeat scans of the same gland disagree with by ten percent or so.

Dimensions Measured In

The three dimensions as your ultrasound or MRI report gives them. PSA is optional and only needed for the density.

The longest measurement, base to apex.
The side to side measurement.
The front to back measurement.
Leave blank if you only want the volume.
