Displacement Calculator
Displacement is the straight line from where an object started to where it finished, with a direction attached, and it is not the same as the distance travelled. Give an initial velocity, an acceleration and a time and this applies s = ut + at squared over two, checks the answer again through the v squared minus u squared form, and says whether the object turned round inside the interval. A second action works from a starting and a finishing velocity, and a third adds up the legs of a journey given as distances and compass bearings to get the net displacement and its bearing. Every result prints the distance actually covered alongside the displacement, because those two part company as soon as anything doubles back. This is the motion sense of the word, not the swept volume of an engine.
