Specific Heat Calculator

Specific heat ties four things together: the heat that moved, the mass, the material and the temperature change. Enter any three and this returns the fourth, with the energy in joules, kilojoules, calories, kilocalories, BTU and watt hours, and a table of thirty materials whose value you can replace with one of your own. A second mode gives the final temperature when two samples at different temperatures are mixed, and a third walks water across melting and boiling, where the latent heat dwarfs everything either side of it. Published specific heats move with temperature, alloy and moisture, so the table is a starting point rather than an answer.

Leave at zero to use the table value. Anything above zero replaces it.
When you are solving for the temperature change this is ignored and worked out instead.
Negative means heat leaving the sample.
