3D Printing Cost Calculator

This builds up the cost of a single 3D print from the five things that actually cost money: material, electricity, machine depreciation, your own time and any consumables the job eats. Give the print time and the grams of filament or millilitres of resin from your slicer, then the spool or bottle price, your tariff, what the printer cost and how many hours you expect from it, and it returns each line, a subtotal, a failure allowance and a suggested price at your markup. The failure allowance sits on the whole subtotal rather than on material alone, because a print that fails near the end has already spent the machine hours and the setup time. Every figure comes from the form, since spool prices, tariffs, printer draw and machine life differ too much between workshops for a stored table to be worth anything. Rent, design time, packaging and tax are not in it.

Calculator Type

Grams of filament and hours on the machine. The slicer gives you both; everything else is what the job costs you to run.

The slicer reports this next to the print time.
The average over the print, not the nameplate rating. A heated bed pulls its full draw only while warming up.
Leave at zero to ignore depreciation.
How many printing hours you expect to get out of it before it is written off.
Applied to the whole subtotal, because a failed print has already spent the machine hours and the setup time, not just the material.

Resin is sold by the litre and the slicer reports millilitres, so that is what this asks for. Alcohol, gloves and a replacement FEP sheet belong in the consumables line.
