This calculator turns a tank of fuel into a fuel economy figure. Enter the miles covered and the US gallons used, or give the odometer reading at each fill-up and let it work out the distance for you. It returns miles per gallon, gallons per 100 miles, the imperial UK figure, and the metric equivalents in kilometres per litre and litres per 100 km. For a meaningful number, fill the tank completely at both ends of the measured run, because a partial fill makes the fuel figure guesswork.
