Air Fryer Conversion Calculator

An air fryer is a small convection oven, so a recipe written for a full-size oven runs about 25 degrees Fahrenheit cooler and a fifth quicker in the basket. Enter the temperature and time from the recipe, in Fahrenheit or Celsius, and this gives the air fryer setting, the minute to start checking and the range to expect, with both the temperature drop and the time cut editable. It converts the other way too, for an air fryer recipe cooked in an oven. The conversion is only a starting point: doneness is decided by the internal temperature of the food, so the safe minimums for poultry, red meat, fish and eggs are printed with every answer.

Calculator Type
Temperature In

Take the temperature and time printed on the recipe. What comes back is where to start, not when it will be done.

Twenty percent is the common starting point. Thin, small pieces can take more; a thick roast usually takes less, because the middle still has to get there.
