Deferred Annuity Calculator

A deferred annuity has two phases, and the answer depends on both. Enter what you are putting in now, what you add each period, the years before the income starts and the growth rate, then the term and the rate for the payout phase, and this returns the value at the moment it is annuitised and the income that value supports. The second calculation runs it the other way: name the income you want and it returns the lump sum needed when payments begin, the smaller lump sum that would buy it today, and the monthly contribution to get there from what you already have. The two rates are kept separate because the build-up and the guaranteed payout are rarely credited the same. It is a fixed-term calculation with no mortality in it, so it is not an insurer's quote.

Calculator Type
Added at the end of every period during the accumulation phase. Leave at zero for a single premium.
Usually lower than the growth rate, because the payout phase is the guaranteed part.
Income annuities are commonly paid at the start of the period, which is worth slightly less per payment for the same pot.
