Decathlon Score Calculator

This scores a decathlon using the World Athletics combined events tables, the same ten formulas in force since the 1984 revision. Enter all ten marks for a full score with the day one and day two splits and a per-event breakdown, score a single event on its own, or work backwards from a points target to the mark that reaches it. Running events use points = a x (b - T)^c and field events points = a x (P - b)^c, with each event truncated to a whole number before the ten are added. Every result carries a self test that rescores Kevin Mayer's 9126 world record from its published marks, so a mistyped table constant shows up immediately. Wind, altitude and hand timing are not adjusted for; the tables score the mark as written.

Calculator Type

Marks go in as the sport records them: seconds for the four runs and metres for the three jumps, the vault and the three throws. There is no imperial entry because there is no imperial scoring table -- the World Athletics constants below are defined on centimetres and metres. A mark written the American way converts with a foot of 0.3048 m and an inch of 0.0254 m, so 21-6 is 6.55 m.

Seconds for the 100 m, 400 m, 110 m hurdles and 1500 m. Metres for the jumps, the vault and the throws -- the scoring table has no imperial form, so a mark written 21-6 becomes 6.55 m at 0.3048 m to the foot and 0.0254 m to the inch.
