Equation Solver

Type an equation in x and this tool rearranges it and solves for the unknown. It covers single-variable linear and quadratic equations only, meaning terms up to x^2, no brackets and no second variable, and it reports the standard form, the discriminant and the roots. When the discriminant is negative the roots are given as a complex conjugate pair. Two equations in two unknowns need a different tool, and anything above degree two is out of scope here.
