Interpolation Calculator

Interpolation estimates a value that falls between data points you already have. Enter two points and the x you want, and it returns y on the straight line through them, along with the slope, the line equation and the arithmetic written out. A table action finds the two points either side of your x for you, an inverse action solves for x from a known y, and a bilinear action reads a two-way table with a row heading and a column heading. Every answer assumes a straight line between the points, so a curved relationship is read off the chord and not the curve unless the points sit close together.

Calculator Type
An x between x1 and x2 is interpolation. An x outside them is extrapolation, and the result says so.
Widget
The same straight line read the other way round, which is how a table is searched backwards.
Widget
Two to forty x,y pairs. Separate the two numbers of a pair with a comma and the pairs with a space or a semicolon.
