Pipe Flow Calculator
Friction loss calculators go one way, from a known flow to the pressure it costs; this goes the other way. Enter the head or pressure you have to spend, the bore, the length and the pipe material, and it returns the flow rate the run will actually carry, with the velocity, the Reynolds number and the friction factor it settled on. The second action asks the sizing question instead and returns the inside diameter a target flow needs to stay inside a loss budget. Because the friction factor depends on the velocity being solved for, both are bisections on Colebrook-White rather than a single substitution, and the residual reached is printed with the answer. Fittings are not included, so take their loss out of the budget first.
