Halfway Point Calculator

This finds the great-circle halfway point between two sets of coordinates, with the distance between them and the bearing from each end. Enter the latitude and longitude of both places in decimal degrees, south and west negative, and it returns the midpoint in decimal degrees and in degrees, minutes and seconds, alongside what a plain average of the two figures would have given instead. A second action returns the point at any fraction of the way along, for when one side is willing to travel further than the other. There is no place-name lookup here: it takes coordinates and gives coordinates back, and the answer is the halfway point of the shortest path over the globe rather than of a drive.
