Power to Weight Ratio Calculator
Power to weight is engine output divided by mass, and it predicts acceleration better than horsepower alone. Enter the power in horsepower, kilowatts or PS and the weight in pounds, kilograms, tonnes or short tons, and the ratio comes back in every form it is usually quoted in. A second mode puts two vehicles side by side and says how much power one would need, or how much weight it would have to shed, to match the other. Quoted horsepower is usually a crank figure and curb weight leaves out the driver, so compare numbers gathered the same way.
