Concrete Cost Calculator

This works out what a concrete pour costs rather than how much concrete it takes. Enter the length, width and thickness, a waste allowance and the prices your supplier quoted, and it returns the yards you would really order, the short-load charge when the load is under the truck minimum, delivery, pump hire, placing labour and a cost per square foot. A second tab prices a yardage you have already worked out. No prices are built in, because ready-mix is quoted by region, strength class and month.

Every price follows the choice, so in metric the ready-mix rate is per cubic metre and the order is rounded up to the next quarter cubic metre.

Measure the pour, enter what your supplier charges, and see the bill broken into concrete, short-load charge, delivery and placing.

Ten per cent is the usual allowance on a slab poured on grade.
Per cubic yard, or per cubic metre when Metric is selected. What the plant quoted for the strength class you need. There is no built-in price list.
Cubic yards, or cubic metres when Metric is selected. The order size below which the supplier charges for the empty space. A full truck is usually 10 yards, about 7.6 cubic metres.
Per cubic yard short, or per cubic metre short when Metric is selected. Ask the plant for this figure. Some charge a flat fee instead, in which case put it in the delivery box.
A flat haulage or fuel charge on the ticket. It is added once, so for an order that needs more than one truck enter the per-load charge times the number of loads. Leave at zero if the quote already includes it.
Only needed when the truck cannot discharge straight into the forms.
Per square foot, or per square metre when Metric is selected. Labour to screed, float and finish. Leave at zero for a materials-only figure.

When the volume has already been worked out, this puts the supplier charges around it and shows what the short-load rule does to a small order.
