Fill Dirt Calculator

This tool works out how much fill dirt a job needs, from a rectangular or a round area and the depth you want to fill. Enter the measurements in feet, the depth in inches and pick a soil type, and it returns the volume in cubic feet and cubic yards with an approximate weight in tons. An optional allowance adds a percentage for the settling that happens once loose dirt is spread and compacted. Soil weight swings with moisture and how tightly it is packed, so treat the tonnage as a guide and confirm the load with your supplier.
