Concrete Weight Calculator

This calculator turns a volume of concrete into a weight, either from a figure you already have or from the length, width and thickness of a slab. You choose one of the standard mix densities or type your own, set how much mix water is lost on curing and add any extra rebar, and it returns the fresh weight, the cured weight, tons, kilograms and the dead load in pounds per square foot. The preset densities are the conventional design values rather than measurements of the mix you are actually buying.

Density and Weights In
This sets the density override, the steel allowance and every weight in the answer. The volume you enter keeps its own unit below.
Volume Unit
The reinforced figure already carries the steel an ordinary slab holds, which is about 3 percent on top of the plain density.
Leave at zero to use the mix above. Required when the mix is set to your own density.
Only for steel beyond the ordinary allowance. Leave at zero with the reinforced density. A heavily reinforced element runs 150 to 250 lb of steel per cubic yard, which is 89 to 148 kg per cubic metre.
Share of the fresh weight lost as mix water evaporates. Two to four percent is usual for a normal mix in ordinary conditions.

Measure In
Metric takes the slab in metres, the thickness in millimetres, the density in kg per cubic metre and the floor allowance in kN per square metre.
