AST ALT Ratio Calculator

The AST to ALT ratio, also known as the De Ritis ratio, is one liver enzyme result divided by the other. Enter AST and ALT in U/L as they are printed on the report, and optionally the upper limit of normal your laboratory prints beside each one, and the tool returns the ratio, the same comparison the other way up, and the band the figure sits in. The bands are descriptive only and name no condition, because a ratio carries no information about how high either enzyme is: two normal results divide to the same figure as two badly raised ones. There is no built-in reference range here, since the upper limit differs by laboratory and assay. Take any result back to the clinician who ordered the test.

Enter both enzymes in U/L, exactly as they are printed on the report.

Aspartate aminotransferase, sometimes printed as SGOT.
Alanine aminotransferase, sometimes printed as SGPT.
Optional. The top of the reference range printed beside the result on your report. Leave at 0 if you would rather not enter it.
