GMI to A1C Calculator

The Glucose Management Indicator estimates what an A1C would read using nothing but the mean glucose from a continuous monitor. Enter that average to get GMI in percent and in mmol/mol, put a lab A1C beside it to see how far apart the two run, or work backwards from a GMI to the average it needs. GMI and a lab A1C are different measurements covering different weeks, so a gap of half a point is common rather than a mistake. Nothing here is a diagnostic result or a replacement for the blood draw.

Calculator Type
Glucose Unit
The average sensor glucose from your CGM report, not a fingerstick reading and not your target.
How many days that average covers. GMI was defined on at least 14 days of wear.
Widget
The GMI printed on your CGM report, or the one the first tab works out from your mean glucose.

Widget
A GMI figure, either a target you have been given or one from a report you want to check.
