Goldman Cardiac Risk Index Calculator
The Goldman Cardiac Risk Index is the 1977 scoring system for cardiac risk in non-cardiac surgery, built on 1,001 consecutive patients at a single hospital. Tick the nine criteria and the result gives the point total out of 53, the class it falls in, and the outcomes recorded for that class in the original cohort, given as counts rather than rounded percentages. Those counts describe patients operated on in the mid-1970s and are not a prediction for anyone today. The Revised Cardiac Risk Index replaced Goldman in 1999 because it discriminated poorly outside its derivation cohort, and current perioperative guidance rests on the RCRI rather than on this.
