Stationary Bike Calorie Calculator

This works out the calories of an indoor cycling session from the power the bike reports, rather than from a MET value attached to a vaguely named effort. Enter your weight, the ride length and either the average watts or the kilojoules on the display, and you get the calories burned, the calories above what you would have burned sitting still, the implied MET and your watts per kilogram. A third action turns it around and gives the average power needed to reach a calorie target in the time you have. The only estimate in the arithmetic is gross efficiency, which you pick from a list; the work itself is measured.

Calculator Type
Weight Unit
Used for the resting figure and the MET, not for the work itself.
