Dog Food Calculator

Feeding amounts start from resting energy requirement arithmetic: RER = 70 x (weight in kg)^0.75, multiplied by a published life stage factor such as 1.6 for a neutered adult or 2.0 for a growing puppy. Enter the weight, the life stage and the kcal per cup or per kilogram printed on the bag, and you get the calories per day and the amount of that food per day and per meal. A second mode lists the calories for every life stage factor at that weight. The figure is a starting point rather than a ration: the label you enter drives it, individual dogs need 20 to 30 percent more or less, and a vet should set the amount for any dog with a health condition.
