Irregular Polygon Area Calculator

This takes a shape the way it gets measured rather than the way it gets drawn. Enter a course per line as a bearing and a distance, or a corner per line as an interior angle and the side leaving it, and it reduces the traverse into latitudes and departures, reports the closure error and the precision ratio, applies the compass rule, and returns the area in square feet, square metres, acres and hectares with the parcel plotted to scale. Bearings may be written as N 30 00 E, as S12.5W or as a plain azimuth. Side lengths alone can never give an area, because four sides hinge into endless different shapes, which is why the angles are asked for. It is the arithmetic a surveyor does and not a survey, so a legal boundary still needs a licensed surveyor.
