Stem and Leaf Plot Calculator

A stem and leaf plot splits every value into a stem and a single leaf digit, so the shape of the data shows on the page without any of the original numbers being thrown away. Paste your data separated with commas, spaces or new lines and the tool draws the plot, states the leaf unit, prints a key and gives the count, range and median beside it. You can set the leaf unit yourself, or split each stem over two or five rows when one band is too crowded to read. A second action puts two sets back to back against a single shared column of stems. It is a display rather than a test, so it will not tell you whether a gap between two groups is real.

Calculator Type
Leaf Unit
The value one leaf stands for. A stem is always ten leaf units.
At least four numbers. Decimals and negatives are fine.
Splitting spreads a crowded plot over more rows without changing the unit.

Leaf Unit
One unit is chosen for both sets, because a back-to-back plot only compares if the stems match.
