Two Step Equation Calculator

This calculator solves a two-step equation and shows the working rather than just the answer. Type the numbers into ax + b = c, into x/a + b = c, or into the both-sides form ax + b = cx + d, and it writes out each step in turn: what is undone, what happens to both sides, and what is left afterwards. The last line substitutes the answer back into the original equation so you can see it balance. Equations where the x terms cancel are handled too, and are reported as no solution or as every number being a solution rather than as an error.
