Car Wrap Cost Calculator

A vinyl wrap estimator built from the two things that set the price: how much film goes on the vehicle and how many hours it takes to fit. Enter the linear feet of film, your film and laminate prices, the waste allowance, the fitting hours and the shop rate, plus separate lines for removing an old wrap, paint prep and design work, and it returns the total with the film area and the cost per square foot. A second mode takes a quote you have been given and splits it into film cost and an implied hourly figure. No prices are built in, and the result lists what a wrap quote usually leaves out.

Enter the film, the labour and the extras at your own prices. Every line is yours; nothing is assumed.

Linear feet, or linear metres if you chose metres above. A shop measures the vehicle for this. As a rough guide a full wrap of a sedan runs somewhere around 50 to 65 linear feet of 60 inch film, which is 15 to 20 metres of 152 cm film; a large SUV or pickup more, and a roof or hood only a fraction of it.
Wrap film comes off a 60 inch roll as standard, and a blank box uses that.
Per whichever unit you chose above, so that the price and the length agree. Cast wrap vinyl is sold by the linear foot or the linear metre off the roll. Chrome, colour-shift and textured finishes cost several times a solid gloss.
Per the same unit as the film price. Only for printed film. A solid colour cast vinyl already carries its own top layer and is not laminated.
Bumpers and mirrors cut awkward shapes out of a roll, and a panel that goes wrong is wrapped twice.
The largest single line on most quotes. A full wrap is commonly quoted in days rather than hours.
Charged separately almost everywhere, and it climbs steeply once the old film has baked on.
Film sticks to what is under it. Failing paint, filler or rust has to be dealt with first or the wrap lifts.
Artwork, proofing and print setup for a graphic or commercial livery. Zero for a solid colour change.
Chrome delete, window tint, door jambs, a ceramic coat over the film, collection and delivery.

You have a price in hand. This works out how much of it is film and what the rest implies as an hourly rate.

Linear feet, or linear metres if you chose metres above. A shop measures the vehicle for this. Ask for it if the quote does not say. A shop that will not give a number is quoting a price, not a job.
