Kitchen Remodel Cost Calculator

This builds a kitchen remodel budget one line at a time rather than from a single price per square foot. Choose a finish level, give the floor area, the cabinet run in linear feet and the countertop and backsplash areas, then tick the parts of the job you are actually doing. Each line comes back with the rate it was built from, followed by a contingency, an optional contractor fee and the band real quotes tend to land in. Everything you leave out is listed back to you, together with the work no finish level covers, such as moving walls, structural repairs and whatever turns up behind the old cabinets.

Measurements In
This moves the four measurements and every per-unit rate in the answer. The rates themselves are US installed prices either way, which is what the note at the bottom says.

Tick the parts of the job you are actually doing. Everything you leave out is listed back to you, so the estimate says what it does not cover as clearly as what it does.

Square feet, or square metres if you switched above.
Linear feet, or linear metres in metric. Measure along the wall, base and wall cabinets counted once. Leave at zero to keep the cabinets you have.
Square feet, or square metres in metric. A 25 foot run of 25 inch deep counter is roughly 52 square feet, and a 7.6 m run at 635 mm deep is roughly 4.8 square metres. Leave at zero for no new counters.
Square feet, or square metres in metric. Counter to the underside of the wall cabinets is usually 18 inches, so about 1.5 square feet per foot of run, or 0.46 square metres per metre of run.
Cover for old wiring, rot, out-of-level walls and the other things found once the cabinets come off.
Applied to the line items before the contingency. Leave at zero if the prices you already have include it.
