Carpet Cost Calculator

Carpet comes off a roll of fixed width, usually 12 feet, so the square footage of the floor is not what you end up paying for. This works out how many full width runs a rectangular room needs, which direction wastes less, how many seams that leaves and the linear feet of roll to order, then prices the carpet, padding, installation and removal of the old floor. A second tab handles a staircase, cutting one piece per step across the roll from the tread, riser and nosing you measure. Pattern repeats, L shaped rooms, winders and landings are not included, so measure those separately and add them on.
