Occupancy Load Calculator

This works out the occupant load of a space from its floor area and its use, using the occupant load factors in Table 1004.5 of the 2021 International Building Code. Pick the use, enter the area in square feet or square metres, and it returns the load rounded up to a whole person along with the minimum number of exits, the total egress width for stairways and for doors and corridors, and the minimum corridor and door widths. A second action runs it backwards and gives the floor area a target headcount needs. Gross and net factors are not interchangeable, and the number the building official and fire marshal post is the one that governs.
