DPS Calculator

This works out damage per second in the generic model most games are a variation on: average hit equals damage times one plus crit chance times the multiplier minus one, then multiplied by attacks per second, hit chance and what the target does not mitigate. Enter the rate as attacks per second, rounds per minute or seconds per attack, add a target health figure and it also returns the time to kill and the number of landed hits needed. A second mode adds magazine size and reload time and gives burst damage, sustained damage across the whole cycle and what the reload costs. It is not tuned to any particular game, and it says so in every result: armour is usually a curve rather than a flat percentage, ability coefficients and crit rolls interact differently in each engine, and damage over time often cannot crit. Use it for a generic figure and for comparing two weapons under the same assumptions.

Calculator Type
Rate Given As

Hit damage and attack rate, with crit, accuracy and target mitigation if you have them.

The average of the damage range if the weapon rolls one.
The total multiplier. 2 means a crit does double damage.
Leave at 100 if attacks cannot miss.
A flat percentage. Most games derive this from armour with their own curve.
Leave at 0 to skip the time to kill.
