Bowling Score Calculator

Type a game in the usual notation, with X for a strike, / for a spare, - for a miss and digits for pins, and this scores it frame by frame. Each frame shows its own working: what a strike or spare picked up from the balls after it, and the running total once that frame is settled. An unfinished game is scored as far as it goes, with the best and worst finishes still available from that point. The tenth frame and its bonus balls follow the standard ten-pin rules.

Write the rolls in the usual notation: X for a strike, / for a spare, - for a miss, F for a foul, and digits for pins. Spaces and bars between frames are ignored, and an unfinished game is scored as far as it goes.

Ten frames. The tenth can hold three balls, written together, such as X81 or 9/X.
