Passer Rating Calculator

Passer rating is the NFL's single number for a quarterback's passing line. Enter attempts, completions, passing yards, touchdown passes and interceptions, and it returns the rating together with each of the four components the formula averages, so you can see which one is holding the number down. Every component is held between 0 and 2.375, which is why the scale stops at 158.3 rather than 100. The NCAA rates passers with a different equation that has no caps, so a college line entered here gives the NFL number instead.

Enter a passing line from one game, or a whole season. The arithmetic is the same either way.

Net passing yards as the box score gives them. Sack yardage is not part of this formula.
