Baby Formula Calculator

This applies the rule of thumb printed on most formula tins: roughly 2 to 2.5 fluid ounces of prepared formula per pound of body weight per day, divided across however many feeds the day splits into, with most babies needing no more than about 32 fluid ounces in total. Enter a weight in pounds or kilograms and the number of feeds and it returns the daily amount as a range, the amount per feed, and the same figures in millilitres, or checks a daily total you already give against that band. It is an average worked out from a weight and it does not know the baby: hunger cues govern, a breastfed baby feeding on demand is not measured this way, and a preterm or unwell baby is fed to a plan a paediatrician sets.
