Fragrance Load Calculator

Enter a wax weight and a fragrance load and this returns the weight of fragrance oil to add, the finished weight, and the load written both ways, because a percentage of the wax and a percentage of the finished total are different numbers. It also runs backwards from a bottle of oil you already have, and across a batch of containers with an allowance for what stays in the pouring pot. Everything is weight in ounces, pounds, grams or kilograms, never volume, since oils differ in density. Your wax's maximum load and your oil's flashpoint come from the supplier's data sheet and are flagged, not guessed.

Weight Unit
In the unit below. In water mode this is the weight of water that fills the empty vessel to the brim, which for a jar sold as 8 oz is about 8 oz.
Water mode only. Wax is lighter than water and a candle is not filled to the brim; 0.86 is the usual figure for soy in a jar. Ignored in wax mode.
What stays in the pouring pot and the thermometer. Ten percent is a fair allowance on a small batch.
